Trump Welcomes Families of Shot Military Soldiers to the White House

Former President Trump announced on the weekend that he has extended an invitation the relatives of a National Guard member tragically killed last week to come to the executive mansion.

He mentioned that he spoke to her family and they were “heartbroken”.

Details on the Heartbreaking Event

Soldier Sarah Beckstrom, twenty years old, was killed in a violent incident on last Wednesday in DC.

Her fellow service member, Andrew Wolfe, 24, is still in the hospital in serious condition.

Vigils across West Virginia have occurred in their remembrance.

Presidential Invitation

The president said he’s talked about a meeting at the presidential residence for the loved ones of both individuals of the state Guard.

“I stated: ‘When you’re able, because that’s a hard experience, arrive at the White House. We’re going to honor Sarah,” the president told journalists. “And similarly with Andrew, recover or not.”

Community Reaction

Attendees gathered over the weekend at a local school in the state to pay respects to Beckstrom.

Both the soldiers had been working with the state guard as part of Trump’s national effort to aid law enforcement in DC.

Paying Tribute to Beckstrom

“She was the type of pupil that educators hoped for. She conducted herself with quiet strength, a bright grin and a upbeat demeanor that encouraged people around her,” the principal, the leader of her former high school, informed the Associated Press. “She was kind, compassionate and always ready to support those in need.”

Service plans for Sarah are yet to be finalized.

Legal Actions and Government Changes

Authorities have indicted a twenty-nine-year-old Afghan national with a charge of first-degree murder and two counts of violent assault while armed.

The event caused the administration to halt asylum applications and halt granting entry permits to possessors of Afghan passports.

Condition of Andrew Wolfe

Andrew Wolfe, a resident of the city, started his military career in early 2019 and is a 2019 graduate of Musselman high school, per the Associated Press.

He continues to receive treatment and is “in a critical fight”, the state’s leader Morrisey said on a news program.

The state’s top lawyer the attorney general informed the program that she also intended to visit his relatives.

Legacy of the Fallen Soldier

Sarah, from Summersville, completed her education from Webster County High in 2023 and began her service not long after, working as a military police officer with distinction, according to the West Virginia National Guard.

“She had a lot of kindness and she certainly had courage,” he addressed the audience at the vigil. “Though her time lasted far too short, she has created a legacy that’s going to endure.”
