Selecting the Three Gunners Players to Choose v Wolves? FPL Team of the Week
One major call in the FPL squad of the gameweek involves select no Manchester City players - and yes, even Haaland!
The funds is required to go all-in on Arsenal assets as they host one of the poorest teams in Premier League recent memory.
It's true, City scored in 5 goals on their most recent away fixture, but this time they take on Palace, a side with the second-best defensive record in the division for goals conceded and fourth-best in relation of xGC.
And Arsenal hosting Wolverhampton is the sort of encounter you just have to target - the leading team in the division against one devoid of form, quality and self-belief.
This squad of the gameweek is selected using current prices to fit within a £100m limit, as if you were using a Free Hit chip.
How did Last Week's Lineup Do?
The captain didn't deliver but high scores from Fernandes (eighteen), Ruben Dias (fourteen), Phil Foden (12) and Tarkowski (9), plus a fortunate 16-point Dewsbury-Hall bench cameo led to a huge 83 points total. Boom!
FPL Team of the Gameweek for Fixture 16
Goalkeeper & Defenders
Robin Roefs, Sunderland, keeper, £4.7m - Newcastle (h)
The first Tyne-Wear derby in the Premier League for eight years is set to be loud, fiery, feisty - and it could be one of those games that is full of tension but minimal clear chances.
A scenario that would make the Sunderland keeper, ranked third in the goalkeeper scoring charts, a good option.
White, Arsenal, £5.2m - Wolves (h)
An Gunners defender is a must for this fixture. Wolverhampton have one goal on the road this season and one in their past six matches.
Ben White is a fantastic offensive threat when he is given his opportunity. Having started the last two games at full-back, registered a fourteen-point return against the Bees and leads the charts in that time among Gunners defenders with two big chances created, two shots in the box and an xGI of 0.7.
Marc Cucurella, Chelsea, £6.2m - the Toffees (home)
The Toffees are erratic so this selection is focused more on the Blues'defensive solidity and the Spaniard's upside.
Chelsea have the fourth-strongest defence while Cucurella has created more chances (nineteen) than any other defender in the league.
And he hasn't scored this season, having netted five goals the previous campaign.
Diogo Dalot, Manchester United, £4.4m - Bournemouth (home)
You can't have high expectations for a United clean sheet - they have one this entire campaign - but Bournemouthscoring have dried up in the last two games.
More importantly, Dalot has been getting in some incredibly advanced roles as a wing-back in the past three games.
In those matches he's had 4 attempts, two clear opportunities, one goal and an assist. He missed a great opportunity at Wolverhampton on Monday night as well.
Midfield
Saka (C), Arsenal, £10.2m - Wolves (home)
This fixture against Wolverhampton is too tempting to pass up and that makes Saka, Arsenaltop attacking player essential.
No stats required to support this pick. Manchester United had 27 attempts at Wolves on Monday, netted 4 and might have had double that.
Arsenal will be keen to attack.
Rice, Arsenal, £7.1m - Wolves (home)
One point behind Fernandes in the midfield scoring list, Declan Rice is so reliable for the Gunners.
More advanced this term, he's generated more chances than any other Gunners teammate (twenty-seven) and has five assists to his name.
He's also the most reliable for minutes as the manager might view this fixture as a chance to rest his squad.
Bruno Fernandes, Manchester United, £9m - Bournemouth (home)
Fernandes may have taken over from Semenyo as the essential Fantasy Premier League midfield asset.
Match-up proof, always a shout for defensive contribution points and with several ways to points.
Palmer, Chelsea, £10.3m - Everton (h)
This week's punt, Cole Palmer has his first full ninety minutes since returning after a long injury and we know what an high-scoring FPL asset he is capable of being.
You get the feeling that, as soon as he has one good game, FPL managers will be flocking to sign him up.
He was absent for the Blues'European loss at the Italian side, but that was the club easing him back carefully so he ought to be well-rested for Everton.
Ouattara, the Bees, £6m - Leeds (home)
Leeds come into this match off the back of two strong home results against Chelsea and Liverpool, but away from home they have conceded three goals for every one they've netted.
This is likely the winger's last fixture before heading to the AFCON.
He has been excellent for the Bees this season, and has five goal contributions in his last 3 home matches.
Forwards
Igor Thiago, Brentford, £6.9m - Leeds United (h)
It has been a disappointing couple of gameweeks for Thiago owners, with just 3 points in two games.
However, he's the second-highest top scorer in the league and has 7 strikes in seven home games. He's the prime striker choice this week and, with a kind run of games, you can select and hold until the end of January at least.
Hugo Ekitike, Liverpool, £8.4m - Brighton (home)
It is expected that the manager keeps faith with the promising Frenchman, after his brace performance at Leeds.
He performed strongly at the start of the season and you can't help but think what he would have done had a rival striker not been signed and competed with him for playing time at centre-forward.
The Bench
- Martin Dubravka, Burnley, £4m - the Cottagers ({h|home
