Plane Carrying US Defense Secretary Forced to Land in UK Because of Crack in Windshield
An aircraft transporting Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth was forced to make an emergency landing in the UK on Wednesday due to a fissure was identified in the plane's windshield, as stated by an official announcement which stated that the secretary was unharmed.
"The plane touched down in accordance with standard procedures and everyone onboard, among them Secretary Hegseth, is secure," a spokesperson commented in a social media post.
Hegseth was returning from a quick journey to the Belgian capital at the time.
This occurrence isn't the first time that a United States armed forces jet transporting a top government figure has experienced equipment failures.
Months ago, a US Air Force plane transporting Secretary of State Marco Rubio to the city in Germany was forced to turn back to Washington DC after encountering a mechanical problem.
