Palestinian-American Youth Freed Following Nine Months in Israeli Imprisonment

An American-Palestinian youth having endured nine months in imprisonment by Israel without being charged was released.
Mohammed Ibrahim was fifteen years old when he was arrested in February throughout the West Bank territory, during a family visit while residing in Florida accused of stone-throwing at Jewish settlers, which he previously denied.
United States authorities expressed satisfaction with Mohammed's liberation.
Now sixteen years old, was taken to hospital right after being freed, family members reported.
Family described him as pale, underweight, and is suffering from conditions contracted in captivity.
Via family representatives, family spokesperson conveyed their "overwhelming sense of relief".
Family member Zeyad Kadur stated the family experienced "enduring a dreadful, continuous nightmare" during the entire detention period.
"At this moment, we are focused on ensuring Mohammed receives prompt healthcare necessary for his recovery after being subjected to mistreatment by authorities and cruel circumstances for months."
The state department stated they would maintain to provide consular support to the teenager's relatives.
{"The Trump Administration considers paramount to the protection and welfare of US citizens"," it added.
A group of American legislators endorsed a document to the state department and the administration, requesting additional efforts to secure his release.
Mohammed's parent, a father-of-four who runs an ice cream business based in Tampa, previously said his son only confessed to throwing stones due to physical abuse.
The father hadn't visited nor direct contact since February, learning information solely about his son's condition in detention through court documents.
He stayed lacking indictment at Ofer detention facility throughout the occupied territory.
The facility also contains grown detainees, some of whom have been convicted regarding severe security violations and homicide.
An estimated 350 Palestinian minors in security custody being held in Israeli jails, according to the Israeli Prison Service.
Many have never been charged while advocacy organizations, and international organizations, document cases involving mistreatment and torture.
Subsequent to his liberation, Mr Kadur said relatives would persist in advocating demanding accountability for their family member their cousin Sayfollah.
This young American-Palestinian who the Palestinian health ministry said succumbed to assault by Israeli settlers following tensions in July.
Initially, military authorities reported authorities were looking into accounts of a Palestinian had been killed.
Mohammed and Sayfollah were employed together within the family's frozen treats establishment in Tampa, Florida.
No indictments occurred regarding Sayfollah's death.
"We expect US authorities to ensure our family's safety," Mr Kadur said.
