Former Doctor Charged with Sexual Assault Allegations Against 38 Patients
Prosecutors have stated that a ex- physician stands accused of committing sexual assaults against thirty-eight victims who were patients.
Details of the Grave Allegations
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham has been charged with dozens of acts of sexual assault – comprising acts against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.
One senior prosecutor stated, “Our prosecutors have worked at length to assist a detailed and complex police inquiry, meticulously examining the evidence to determine that there is sufficient evidence to bring the case to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
Scope of the Investigation
The charges follow what investigators called a “detailed inquiry” into reported assaults at medical facilities: the Royal Stoke university hospital and a facility in Dudley.
Spencer is due to appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on January 20th.
Breakdown of Charges
Prosecutors said the forty-five charges include:
- 15 counts of assault.
- Seventeen counts of penetrative assault.
- Nine counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- Three counts of penetrative assault on a child under thirteen.
- 1 count of attempted penetrative assault.
