BF6 Battle Royale Arrives Very Soon as a F2P Experience
After quite some time of speculation, the battle royale mode for Battlefield 6 is at last launching. Last week's rumors claiming its release would happen alongside the first season were accurate. Fans can dive into the action starting tomorrow.
Launch Season Adding a New Map, Game Type, and Arsenal
In tandem with the battle royale mode, the first season is also starting. It brings a brand-new arena, a new mode, and new weapons. On top of that, this new sector is arriving. An embedded trailer will be released at launch, offering fans a preview of what's to come.
F2P Model Makes the Mode Available to Everyone
Possibly the most significant announcement is that the battle royale mode will be free-to-play. Similar to popular games, you don't have to own the base game to participate. A number of gamers have previously tried early versions of the experience. These trials were held in a collaborative space, which the studio described as their biggest community collaboration effort.
The intense thrill during encounters with opposing teams can't be found in other last-man-standing mode. It's like a true survival situation, and you actually care if you make it or not.
Despite being a skeptic earlier, I'm fully a fan of the new mode since trying it.
These first feedback from participants have been extremely encouraging. Of course, the experience may have been adjusted over the past month or two in terms of tuning and pace. However, first impressions are strong that the battle royale could emerge as a genuine rival to popular titles. Some are expecting that the most effective firearms from the main game will be available in the BR.
